02/10/2005 bug Failure "Interface not registered"
User of Windows XP SP2 who installed updates via die seit dem 09.02.2005 Updates über Windows Update or automatic updates since February, 9th 2005 get in in all probability the error message "Interface not registered".
The reason is the new dhtmled.ocx (version 6.1.0.9232 from 11.01.2005 with 128,512 bytes) which has got evidently changed or faulty interfaces. With other operating systems (e.g. Windows 2000 SP4: dhtmled.ocx version 6.1.0.9232 from 14.01.2005 with 119,056 bytes) this error does not occure.

Installing a former dhtmled.ocx is just a short-term emergency solution. For Instance in the folder "%WINDIR%\ServicePackFiles\i386" should be located the dhtmled.ocx of Windows XP SP2 which still works. Make a backup of the folowing file %Windows partition%:\program files\shared files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit\dhtmled.ocx, copy the former version to this location and call by Start -> Run... -> regsvr32 "%Windows partition%:\program files\shared files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit\dhtmled.ocx".
However, out of this arises maybe negative consequences for the system security, see http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS05-013.mspx

The former version could be easier restored by using the following command (e.g. via Start -> Run...):
%windir%\$NtUninstallKB891781$\spuninst\spuninst.exe /quiet

We take pains to offer as soon as possible a new version of the kkHTMLEditor which also works with the new patch level.
Unfurtunately, we can not appoint a datefor the update because we have to make a closer analysis of the issue.

On this page you get the latest news about the problem.

Addition:

12/28/2003 Restriction loading css files from external servers
Depending on the version and security update of the Microsoft Internet Explorer, it is not or only restricted possible to load Cascading Style Sheets from external servers (external servers = an other URL, if the kkHTMLEditor is operated under http://intern.kk-software.com, http://www.kk-software.de will be even an external server). This is caused by the zone and security model of the Internet Explorer (cue on: Cross-Site-Scripting). The difficultiy only occures by using the Internet-Explorer.
We are working on an upgrade.

05/12/2003 bug Failure after IE patches

Description
After installing certain Internet Explorer security updates the control throws an Exception C0000001D whenever a table is inserted. The control however continues without failure afterwards. Closing the Internet Explorer finally causes it to crash.

Reason
The security updates replace the file triedit.dll with a new version without registering it finally.
The behaviour is reported in several articles of the Microsoft Knowledge Base and affects all programs relying on the triedit.dll:
- Q195184: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=195184
- Q246490: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=246490

Solution:
You have to register triedit.dll again:
Start » Run » regsvr32 "Drive:\Path\triedit.dll"
The triedit.dll file can typically be found in
"c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\triedit\triedit.dll"
or language specific folders, e.g. for german versions
"C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Microsoft Shared\Triedit\triedit.dll" .
A better solution is in progress
